Job summary
Plansee Group USA Towanda site offers a co-op opportunity for electrical engineering students to contribute to plant engineering projects and learn under experienced engineers. You will read electrical diagrams, assist with design, and collaborate with contractors to improve equipment reliability.
The internship supports NEC requirements, includes exposure to PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks, and runs for 3–6 months, with a potential summer 2027 start.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Interest in power systems, industrial electrical design, automation, controls, and manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with NEC/OSHA regulations is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret single-line diagrams and electrical drawings.
- Assist with engineering calculations, equipment specifications and electrical design.
- Evaluate equipment selections based on technical, operational, and cost criteria.
- Coordinate daily with contractors on electrical construction and facility projects.
- Learn plant engineering standards, procedures and best practices.
- Apply NEC requirements in project work.
- Support PLC, HMI, and industrial network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
