Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern in Fort Worth, TX, to assist on energy and power projects under the mentorship of Professional Engineers. You will contribute to calculations, drawings, and specifications, while coordinating with other trades to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program, with a focus on Power Distribution or Energy, and have internship experience.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering Degree Program.
• Visa Sponsorship is not available for role.
• 3.0+ GPA is preferred.
• Degree concentration in Power Distribution or Energy is a plus.
• Previous applicable internship experience and supportive coursework is ideal.

At Jacobs, we’re transforming intangible ideas into innovative solutions designing the future - today. We’re seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our Energy and Power Solutions team in Fort Worth, Texas.

As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide.

During your internship, you will be mentored by Professional Engineers while you engage with our clients, evaluate their energy needs, and develop concept‑level plans and solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to use your theoretical knowledge and apply it to solving today’s challenges. We offer and deliver a true "end-to-end" life‑cycle service from exploration, development, operation, and repowering/retirement. Your primary responsibilities will focus on supporting engineering calculations, construction drawings, and specifications for energy and power projects. You’ll be responsible for providing system design calculations and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering) under the guidance of more senior technical staff. You’ll also take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assigned to you by demonstrating the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.

To be successful in this position you will need excellent analytical, conceptual, communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

The base salary range for this position is $50,000.00 to $62,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
