Job summary

Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support the design department by assisting with tasks and project documentation, gaining practical experience. Full-time student pursuing an ABET-accredited undergrad in Architectural or Electrical Engineering with interest in buildings and facilities is preferred.

Expect involvement in drawings, design development, and site activities.

Qualifications

• Full-time student currently pursuing an ABET accredited undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Interest in buildings and facilities projects.
• Familiarity with design and production software (Revit, AutoCAD, AGI32, Lightstanza, Elumtools, SKM, ETAP).

Responsibilities

• Assist senior or lead (architects, engineers, interior designers, project managers) with basic design tasks, including research, simple studies, and layout support
• Help prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, modeling, graphics, design development, and construction phases
• Support the creation of presentation and marketing materials
• Assist with construction phase activities, including participating in site visits, supporting RFI responses, reviewing shop drawings, and helping update record drawings
• Follow established quality control procedures and ask questions as needed
• Learn and apply department and company standards and best practices
• Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with team members
• Receive guidance and direction from supervisors and team leaders
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other multidisciplinary team members
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Position Summary

Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern who will support the assigned design department by assisting with a variety of tasks, including special project assignments and active participation in project design and documentation, to gain practical experience and support their educational development.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Compensation for this position is $22.00-$27.00/hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications.

• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate well with others

• Full-time student currently pursuing an ABET accredited undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering with an interest in buildings and facilities projects.

Preferred Experience

• Coursework in a related field
• Previous internship or relevant work experience
• Familiarity with design and production software (Revit, AutoCAD, AGI32, Lighstanza, Elumtools, SKM, ETAP), with the ability to use these tools to develop project documents and collaborate with project team members

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
