Job summary

Repsol Renewables Services North America (RRSNA) seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team in Downtown Houston for a 12-week program. You will support design, development, and optimization of solar, wind, and battery storage projects across the United States.

You will review drawings, perform power system calculations, develop diagrams, and assist with commissioning, testing, and site visits. Strong analytical skills and collaboration in cross-functional teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without a visa.
• Enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Coursework in power systems, electrical machines, renewable energy, circuits, controls, or related disciplines preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, PVSyst, MATLAB or similar engineering software is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support Electrical Engineering team members in the design, development, and execution of renewable energy projects.
• Assist with the review of electrical drawings, specifications, and design packages for solar, wind, and battery energy storage facilities.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis related to power systems, electrical equipment, and renewable energy generation.
• Assist in the development and review of single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, cable schedules, and electrical design documentation.
• Support project teams in evaluating equipment such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, battery systems, and collection systems.
• Analyze system performance data and assist with troubleshooting electrical and operational issues.
• Participate in project design reviews and cross-functional engineering meetings.
• Assist with commissioning, testing, and startup activities for renewable energy facilities when applicable.
• Support construction and field engineering activities through site visits and technical assessments.
• Maintain engineering records, drawings, reports, and project documentation.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project updates for management and project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and equipment manufacturers to support project objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
