Novelis is offering an on-site Electrical Engineering Internship in Bay Minette, AL for approximately 12 weeks during Summer 2027. You will work with the Central EMRA Leader, perform project-driven tasks, and gain hands-on industry experience from start to finish.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Novelis in Bay Minette, AL has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2027 internship. The team is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in relevant work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the Central EMRA Leader and will gain experience with Special projects and run it from start to finish as well as Blueprint reading, CAD, Microsoft Office package, safety walks.

Responsibilities:

• Report out on projects to engineering team
• Responsible for seeking out data and do research to complete your project
• Investigate areas where improvements can be made
• Work with full time engineers to analyze and brainstorm potential cost saving projects

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University.
• Must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate.
• Interested in gaining hands on industry experience prior to graduation.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer students majoring in Electrical Engineering
• Solid business insight
• High interest in becoming an engineering leader in a manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills

Location Profile

Novelis' newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
