Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group seeks an Electrical Engineering Graduate for an entry level role in Chicago. You will support design teams, learn CAD/REVIT drafting, and collaborate across trades on diverse MEPT projects this role offers mentoring and hands-on training through the EDT program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical engineering or Architectural Engineering with graduation window Winter 2026 to Summer 2027.
• Internship experience is a plus and EIT/FE is preferred.
• Knowledge of MEP AutoCAD and REVIT is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer.
• Perform CAD/REVIT drafting for a range of projects.
• Coordinate with other trades and senior staff on designs.
• Support installations, retrofits, replacements and upgrades.
• Own completeness, accuracy and timeliness of work.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and site visits.
• Participate in the EDT program training and related seminars.

Job Responsibilities:

As an entry level engineer, you will support our engineering teams working toward our designs that are inspiring, demanding, and highly collaborative. You will learn from others, and they will expect to learn from you. You will share in the responsibility, rewards, and recognition of producing truly innovative solutions and complete client satisfaction.

Some responsibilities include:

• Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer.
• Learn drawing organization and company standards
• Perform CAD/REVIT drafting for a variety of projects and project sizes to begin to understand architectural engineering design and documentation.
• Coordinate with the designs of other trades (architectural, engineering / internal, and external) under the guidance of more senior technical staff.
• Support the design and engineering efforts of systems for new installations, system retrofits, system replacement, and system upgrades for a wide variety of projects and project types.
• Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assignments.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and construction site visits to observe and attend project coordination meetings.
• Participate and regularly attend the EDT program training sessions and support activities that are part of the EDT program.
• Attend all other continuing education seminars on technical or professional enhancing topics.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate will enjoy a team environment and be flexible enough to work independently where needed. Candidates for this role will be eager to learn and will expand their knowledge and hands‑on experience by challenging themselves and using the highly technical resources around them.

Additional job requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Electrical engineering, or Architectural Engineering with a graduation date of Winter 2026, Spring or Summer of 2027
• Previous engineering internship, a plus
• Knowledge of the latest version of MEP Auto CAD; REVIT experience is a plus.
• Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite
• E.I.T. or FE preferred.
