The Office of Physical Plant (OPP) Design and Engineering Services (DES) is seeking applicants for an Electrical Engineering Group Supervisor.
Design and Engineering Services (DES) provides architectural and engineering design services for construction projects and engineering operational support across all Penn State campuses. Design projects primarily involve renovations of Penn State's buildings, facilities, and infrastructure. Project sizes and scopes vary from small office renovations to whole building renovations, as well as major infrastructure and plant upgrades.
This Design Engineer Senior Supervisor position
Supervises the 3 to 5-person Electrical Engineering group within Design and Engineering Services
Guides to building-level electrical engineering design efforts
Promotes long-term reliability, performance, energy efficiency, and safety in facility electrical systems
Provides operational support to Penn State utilities on electrical power and electrical engineering-related issues
Guides, reviews, and coordinates on electrical engineering designs provided by outside consultants
The position's duties are distributed between staff supervision, electrical engineering design, and general electrical engineering support for campus and utilities operations. The percentage of time spent between these activities varies depending on organizational needs.

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $81,312.00 - $137,280.00.
