Project teams could include ten or more electrical engineers working together within much larger multi-discipline design teams. This position will offer you the opportunity to be the technical lead of a project team consisting of engineers and designers involved in the design and analysis of new electrical systems supporting the development and testing of the next generation of nuclear science and research. You will lead a team on challenging assignments that include designing electrical distribution systems and new facilities containing laboratories, testing, and research areas that will require solving a wide variety of unique electrical engineering issues.

  • Lead the development of electrical engineering deliverables, including drawings, calculations, and specifications, while overseeing and guiding other engineers and designers in the preparation of engineering documents
  • Act as the Electrical discipline lead in the coordination of design phases for all aspects of site and facility electrical engineering work
  • Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget
  • Coordinate design activities amongst other electrical engineers to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements
  • Interface with clients as the electrical discipline lead, providing status updates, preparing RFI’s and clarifying scope
  • Prepare and review detailed electrical calculations, including arc flash, voltage drop, fault current, and lighting analysis
  • Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production
  • Interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendations
  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and S&L formats
  • Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation
