Bayer is seeking a 12-month hardware co-op in Pennsylvania to design and test electronic circuitry, generate test plans, analyze results, and troubleshoot during testing while owning test methods and reporting progress to the hardware team.

The program begins January or May 2027; applicants must be enrolled in an Electrical Engineering degree and have completed at least the second year. Preference for Python/Matlab familiarity and schematic-entry tools.

Job description

The primary responsibilities of this role are to: Design and test electronic circuitry; Generate test plans and protocols; Analyze test results and compose test reports; You will also troubleshoot problems during testing, assume ownership of specific test methods and sub-modules, and routinely provide readouts to the larger hardware team about the progress of your work.

This is a 12 month co-op position beginning in January OR May of 2027.

  • Troubleshoot problems during testing and assume ownership of specific test methods and sub-modules;
  • Routinely provide readouts to the larger hardware team about the progress of your work.
Who You Are

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications
  • Enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree program;
  • Completion of at least second year of a Bachelors degree;
  • Experience with basic electronic test equipment;
  • Classwork in circuits, hardware design, physics, and statistics;
  • Attention to detail, positive attitude, good work ethic;
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot;
  • Teamwork experience through coursework, lab work, and/or internship;
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Python, Matlab, and schematic entry tools;
  • Medical device classwork.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $24.00 to $45.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant). This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
