Job summary

Jobot in Davenport, IA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support development and manufacturing operations. This role focuses on improving rolling processes, vision and surface quality systems, and delivering robust technical solutions across production lines.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams, apply PLC programming and software skills (C++, Python, Java), and engage in root-cause analysis. The position is primarily a day shift with occasional off-hours to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of statistics.
• Basic understanding of Vision Systems and Surface Monitoring Systems.
• Proficiency in Industrial controls and programming (PLCs, C++, Python, Java, etc).

Responsibilities

• Support product development by investigating, determining, and changing rolling models/processes for new products.
• Support operations and maintenance of Vision Systems, Measuring Systems, and Surface Quality Monitoring Systems on rolling equipment; lead installation and commissioning.
• Advise and lead failure analysis; participate in root-cause analysis and organize cross-functional support.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure understanding of equipment and its impact on utilization, process and product quality.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal customers and external suppliers for process improvements.
• Be prepared for off-shift hours or weekends due to 24/7 manufacturing when needed.
