Job Summary
This position is available for an experienced electrical engineer designing vehicle systems. Hiring level will commensurate with experience and skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for engineering definition, development, design, validation, release, and production support of vehicle electrical systems and components, with emphasis on wiring harnesses and system integration.
- Apply standard electrical engineering practices to support product development, problem resolution, validation activities, and production issues across multiple vehicle platforms.
- Define, integrate, and support the placement of electrical and electronic components, harnesses, system interfaces, and harness routings across low-voltage and high-voltage architectures, including Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) systems such as high-voltage power distribution, equip bonding, grounding, and related safety components.
- Support electrical system implementation for production builds, including documentation, design releases, and change management activities across vehicle programs.
- Own assigned electrical components or subsystems, including requirements definition, interface coordination, validation planning, and maintenance of design documentation across the product lifecycle.
- Must be able to work with a diverse set of stakeholders (PACCAR Divisions, Suppliers & Customers) and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Up to 10% travel can be expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably within vehicle, automotive, or heavy-duty commercial platforms.
- Excellent professional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) are required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, take initiative, act as a team player, and a problem solver.
- Strong experience with vehicle electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, electrical components, and system integration.
- High level of initiative and demonstrated problem solving experience.
- Experience with Microsoft office products.
- Experience designing electrical schematics and drawings.

Preferred Qualifications
- Harnessing/Siemens Capital experience.
- Expertise with modeling complex systems with dynamic and thermal considerations and emphasis on weight control of a commercially viable final product.
- Working knowledge of tools; Creo/ProEngineer, Windchill, and Siemens Capital (or equivalent).
- Ability to work with Tier 1 partner integrating high voltage DC electric powertrain and control systems.
- Working knowledge of electrical architectures such as battery packs, high-voltage distribution, converters, contactors/relays, and associated safety systems.
- Hands on experience and manufacturing experience desired.
