Electrical Engineer (US Citizenship REQUIRED)

TITLE: Electrical Engineer (US Citizenship is required)

RATE RANGE: $50/hr - $60/hr W2 (no health benefits while on contract, an hour worked is an hour paid)

CLEARANCE: No clearance

LOCATION: Annapolis Junction MD 20701 (no relocation package)

TELECOMMUTE: No (some potential for hybrid flex options)

SCHEDULE: 9/80, Every other Friday off

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES

This position involves interacting with optical, mechanical and software design teams to assist in the overall development of systems; planning and leading electrical engineering root‑cause analysis for electrical issues, conducting experimental tests, evaluating results to formulate and implement solutions to issues, contributing to the generation and maintenance of documentation, specifying, selecting and qualifying active and passive components; developing and benchmarking system performance models; developing and implementing test procedures, and evaluating and selecting appropriate test instrumentation. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently to determine approaches to challenges.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Hands‑on experience with optical communications hardware design and build
  • Familiarity with lab and field testing of prototypes and research and development projects
  • Experience in application of electrical engineering processes, concepts, principles, and theories
  • Proficient with electrical engineering computer‑aided design (CAD) tools and mixed circuit analysis/design; Xpedition or Allegro preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical assembly and test, communications‑related tools (BERT, sampling oscilloscope, OSA)
  • Creative thinker committed to staying ahead of technology trends, with strong background in test and troubleshooting
  • Flexibility in a dynamic program environment, and willingness to take on multiple tasks simultaneously
REQUIRED EDUCATION

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job‑related experience or a Master’s degree.
