Job summary

albacore is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and develop electrical systems for underwater vehicles. You will contribute to architecture development, schematic design, PCB layout, and system integration across power, control, sensing, and onboard computing subsystems.

The role covers the full hardware lifecycle from design and board bring-up to debugging and validation, including wiring harness design and subsystem interconnects. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1–7 years designing and integrating electronic systems.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout using ECAD tools (Altium preferred).
• Hands-on bring-up, debugging, and validation of electronics.
• Experience integrating processors, sensors, power electronics, and interfaces.
• Familiarity with high-speed digital, analog, or power electronics design.
• U.S. work authorization and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for underwater vehicles.
• Develop power distribution, motor control, sensing, and onboard computing subsystems.
• Support full lifecycle including design, bring-up, debugging, and validation.
• Design and document wire harnesses, interfaces, and subsystem interconnects.
• Participate in hands-on integration, system bring-up, and field testing.
• Apply first-principles engineering to improve reliability and architecture.
