MUST HAVE TRACTION POWER ENGINEER EXPERIENCE

The Opportunity

Client is seeking a Traction Power Engineer to join our growing team. This is a 100% remote position supporting major light rail and EV infrastructure projects nationwide.

This role offers a unique long-term leadership path. The owner intends to retire in approximately 12 years and is seeking a strong technical leader who has the ambition and capability to grow into a future ownership role within the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Design DC traction power substations and rail electrification systems
• Lead engineering for light rail and transit power distribution systems
• Support EV charging infrastructure design and integration
• Develop design concepts, drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports
• Perform traction power studies and cost estimates
• Conduct field assessments and provide technical recommendations
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables
• Interface directly with clients and prime consultants
• Mentor junior engineers and CAD/Revit designersMaintain project documentation and quality control

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Power emphasis preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in rail transit traction power systems
• Strong experience in light rail projects
• EV infrastructure experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Revit (required)
• Experience with traction power modeling software is a plus
• PE license preferred (or ability to obtain)
• Strong technical, leadership, and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with ability to deliver on time and within budget
