(GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We have an exciting career opportunity for an Electrical Engineer Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead working in our Unmanned Aircraft Systems group. Under general supervision with limited review, this position is responsible for overseeing the definition, design, and prototype/initial production of one or more electrical sub-systems for a GA-ASI unmanned air vehicle. Subsystems may include Electrical Power, Vehicle Management, Mission Systems, Weapons Systems and more. A successful candidate will be a highly technical engineer in the field of aircraft electrical system design and will also have strong project management skills. This position carries significant responsibility for the successful execution of a program. This position acts as the “face” of the Electrical Engineering department to the program team and customer for a given effort. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of overall objectives and reviewed largely at completion. Initiates the planning of engineering projects and develops innovative designs or modifications to meet project goals. Independently performs difficult/complex engineering work with instructions as to the general expected results. Oversees project budget and actively manages the development schedule for the assigned electrical subsystem(s). Documents findings, communicates results to engineering staff and makes frequent technical presentations. Coordinates segments of a specific project and has frequent inter-organization and customer contact on difficult technical issues. Provides direction to design or technical staff and may provide direction to less experienced professional staff.
