Amazon Leo is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our avionics development team building critical hardware for satellite systems, including the flight computer, propulsion control, and attitude determination.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our avionics development team building critical hardware for Amazon Leo satellites. This role is suited for an engineer with strong electrical engineering fundamentals, hands-on hardware experience, and the ability to independently execute well-defined technical work.
You will work with peer and senior engineers to design, analyze, build, test, and deliver satellite avionics hardware supporting the flight computer, propulsion control, attitude determination and control, and solar array deployment and control. You will own defined portions of hardware development and contribute across board design, laboratory testing, system integration, qualification, and production support.
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be part of the avionics hardware team designing and testing electronics for the flight computer, propulsion control, attitude determination and control, and solar array deployment and control systems.
You will drive high-quality hardware designs, and ensure robust execution from development into production. Working closely with peer engineers, you will lead critical technical efforts while partnering across systems, firmware, manufacturing, and integration teams to solve complex problems.

Our team is responsible for delivering production avionics hardware for the flight computer, propulsion control, attitude determination and control, and solar array deployment and control systems on the Amazon Leo satellite bus.
We own our hardware from development through qualification, production, and system integration, and work closely with systems, firmware, mechanical, test, manufacturing, and operations teams to deliver reliable flight hardware at scale.
The team includes engineers with a broad range of technical backgrounds who value strong fundamentals, thoughtful design, hands-on problem solving, and high-quality execution.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
