Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a protection engineer to design, implement, and maintain protection and controls for campus power infrastructure. You will coordinate relay settings for MV and HV systems, and work hands-on with SEL or equivalent platforms to implement protection schemes.

You will participate in commissioning, verify settings, and analyze event records to improve reliability. This is an on-site role in Austin, TX, offering challenging projects at scale in frontier compute infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Must have protection engineering experience with relay settings and coordination for MV/HV systems.
• Hands-on experience developing settings for SEL or equivalent platforms.
• Experience commissioning protection schemes in the field.
• Ability to analyze relay operations from event records and improve protections.
• Settings files should be managed like safety-critical code.
• Experience with generator protection, IEC 61850 and related schemes, NERC PRC exposure, arc-flash mitigation is a plus.
