Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer or Principal Electrical Engineer specializing in Aircraft Ground and Flight Test to join our Lab Test and Engineering Organization (LTEO). This role is located at Eglin AFB, FL.

In this LTEO role you will support aircraft systems development and qualification within a laboratory environment. Duties include assisting in laboratory design, test planning and preparation, scheduling test events, and leading the execution of test procedures. You will also ensure test stations and assets are configured and ready to test by deploying software and configuring hardware, work closely with Quality Assurance to maintain and validate test station software and hardware configurations, contribute to test readiness reviews, conduct briefings, perform acceptance testing and integration events. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑expectation work environment with diverse assignments and collaborative teamwork across all levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support development and integration of electronic warfare subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
  • Lead test events ranging from developmental to formal testing
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain standards of test conduct and rigor
  • Effectively manage lab configuration through detailed documentation
  • Accurately communicate lab and test status to leadership via written and oral means
  • Troubleshoot component and system level issues/discrepancies

This position mainly operates on our 9/80 schedule, which means you will get every other Friday off. Shift schedules are flexible and can change to meet customer demands. Basic Qualifications – Electrical Engineer
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience in Engineering, or 1 year with a Master’s.
  • Must be able to transfer and maintain the Final adjudicated U.S. government Top Secret Security Clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period of time.
  • Experience in Aircraft Ground Test and Operations.
  • Experience reading and comprehending schematic diagrams.
  • Experience using test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.
  • Familiarity with avionics systems and equipment, Test Stations, or Lab Operations.
  • Experience with software deployments and deployment tools.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Basic Qualifications – Principal Electrical Engineer
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience in Engineering, or 3 years with a Master’s, or 1 year with a PhD.
  • Must be able to transfer and maintain the Final adjudicated U.S. government Top Secret Security Clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period of time.
  • Experience in Aircraft Ground Test and Operations.
  • Experience reading and comprehending schematic diagrams.
  • Experience using test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.
  • Familiarity with avionics systems and equipment, Test Stations, or Lab Operations.
  • Experience with software deployments and deployment tools.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tools (Jira and Confluence)
  • Experience with Electronic Principles, MIL STD protocols for 1553, 429, and 1394 buses.
Compensation and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 – $118,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 – $123,000.00

Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Eligible for Long Term Incentives for Vice President or Director positions. Benefits include health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
