Boom Supersonic in Englewood, Colorado seeks a principal electrical engineer to own the engine's electrical system end to end, from power distribution to controls interfaces and testing. This is a system-wide role requiring hands-on ownership across architecture, hardware bring-up, and field validation.
You will partner with propulsion, mechanical, controls, and test teams to integrate the electrical system into a blank-sheet gas turbine platform, manage key vendor relationships, and lead
Superpower is a 42 MW gas turbine built to power AI data centers. This is a load profile that doesn't behave like anything the grid was designed around, on a timeline the power industry doesn't usually move on. The electrical system is what makes the engine possible: how it senses itself, protects itself, and delivers power reliably under conditions nothing else has been built to handle.
We're looking for a principal electrical engineer to own that system. This isn’t a narrow role. You will work across the full electrical scope of the engine, including power distribution, protection, instrumentation, and controls interfaces. These aren't separate workstreams. They're one system, and someone needs to own it end to end.
If you've been the person in the room who actually knows how the whole electrical system fits together and wants to build one from a blank sheet, this is that job.
