Job summary

Pinnacle Specialty Group is seeking a design engineer with strong experience in electrical design for NRC/DOE regulated environments. The role requires familiarity with national standards (NFPA 70, ASME) and conducting engineering processes.

You will review CRs, perform walkdowns, and coordinate redline updates with drafting teams. Requires ABET-accredited BS in Electrical Engineering and the ability to obtain a Q clearance.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to review and correct engineering documentation per CRs RTS.
• Familiarity with Conduct of Engineering and Conduct of Operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop design outputs per CNS and consensus national standards (NFPA 70, ASME, etc.).
• Review Change Requests for RTS>90 days and ensure documentation reflects work.
• Perform walkdowns to verify completed work and reflect in Affected Documents.
• Prepare redline markups and provide to drafting for CM documents.
• Verify that Affected Documents incorporate CR information correctly.

Duties

The responsibilities for the design engineer are: The Engineer must have familiarity with and experience in developing design output in accordance with CNS and consensus national standards (i.e.. NFPA 70/ National Electrical Code, ASME, etc.)

• Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable along with an understanding of Conduct of Engineering and Conduct of Operations for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment
• Having strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various production and support organizations
• Review Change Requests (CRs) for systems that have been Returned to Service (RTS) >90 days that have not been closed
• Identify the Affected Documents associated with CRs RTS that need to be revised to reflect the work covered by the CR
• Perform walkdowns as needed to verify that the work covered by the CRs has been performed
• Review and compare information shown on Affected Documents to work defined by the CRs
• Prepare redline markups of Affected Documents to reflect the incorporation of the work covered by the CRs,
• Provide the redlined copy of the Affected Documents to drafting personnel for incorporation onto the Parent CM document
• Provide check/verification that Affected Documents reflect incorporation of CR information correctly

Education

Requires an ABET accredited BS Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience. Ability to obtain Q clearance required.

Level 3 – BA/BS Degree plus 10-14 years of direct experience required, or an MA or MS with 10-13 years of experience.

Level 4 - BA/BS Degree plus 15-20 years of direct experience required, or an MA or MS with 14-18 years of experience.

Level 5 - BA/BS Degree plus 20 years of direct experience required, or an MA or MS with 19 years of experience.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
