We offer a fast-paced, technology-driven workplace where high-energy professionals can build the physical infrastructure of the future. If you thrive in a forward-moving atmosphere and want to grow at the speed of the AI revolution, this is the place to define your career.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer specialized in power conversion to lead the end-to-end development of high-efficiency power systems. This role focuses on the architecture, detailed design, rigorous analysis, and hardware validation of DC-DC converters, AC-DC power supplies, and inverter systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that all designs meet stringent performance metrics, thermal constraints, and global EMI/Safety regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Hardware Design & Prototyping:
  • Design and develop power conversion topologies (e.g., Buck, Boost, Flyback, LLC Resonant, Phase-Shifted Full Bridge).
  • Select critical components including power MOSFETs/IGBTs, Wide Bandgap (GaN/SiC) devices, and magnetic elements.
  • Create detailed schematics and supervise high-power PCB layouts, ensuring optimal grounding and parasitic minimization.
Analysis & Simulation:
  • Perform circuit simulations using tools like SPICE, PLECS, or MATLAB/Simulink to predict steady-state and transient behavior.
  • Conduct Worst-Case Analysis (WCA), Stress Analysis (Component Derating), and Stability Analysis (Bode plots/Control loop modeling).
  • Execute thermal modeling to ensure reliability across the full operating temperature range.
Compliance & Magnetics:
  • Design and specify custom magnetic components (inductors, transformers) for high-frequency switching.
  • Implement EMI mitigation techniques (filter design, shielding, and layout optimization) to meet FCC/CISPR requirements.
  • Ensure hardware adheres to international safety standards (e.g., UL 62368-1, IEC 60601, or ISO 26262).
Validation & Testing:
  • Perform hands-on "bring-up" and debugging of complex PCBAs.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for efficiency, thermal performance, and protection features (OVP, OCP, OTP).
  • Utilize advanced lab equipment, including high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and electronic loads.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Electronics concentration preferred).
  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in switch-mode power supply (SMPS) design.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Deep understanding of control theory and analog circuit design.
  • Proven track record of taking a power product through EMI/EMC (conducted and radiated emissions) and Safety certification.
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar EDA tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with mechanical and firmware teams.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Wide Bandgap (SiC/GaN) semiconductor integration.
  • Knowledge of digital control implementation using microcontrollers or DSPs.
  • Familiarity with functional safety requirements (ASIL levels).
Note on Compliance:

A successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to balance high power density with the physical requirements of creepage, clearance, and thermal management.

  • Starting with 15 paid vacation days in the first year
  • 11 paid corporate holidays + 5 bonus holidays
  • 5 paid sick leave days per year
  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans
  • Advanced health plan options with employer-subsidized out-of-pocket premiums
  • Company-sponsored Life Insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Employment type: Full Time
  • Location: On-site at Fremont, CA

For Pay Transparency-Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $80,000 - $95,000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
