Job summary

TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. is seeking an Electronics Engineer to support and modify programmable DC power supplies and high voltage products at our Neptune, NJ facility, assisting senior engineers on new product development as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of related experience, and strong knowledge of power supply design, safety standards, and EMC considerations. Familiarity with LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, and PCB design is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university/advanced degree or certificate
• More than three years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)
• Understanding of basic power supply design including magnetics, control loop design, and standard topologies.
• Understanding of various safety standards related to power supply products.
• Familiarity with LTspice, OrCAD PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, or Mathcad.
• Understanding of various power semiconductor technologies.
• Familiarity with PCB design.
• Understanding of EMC issues relating to high frequency switching and associated industry standards for compliance.
• Good communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, AC sources, Electronic loads etc.
• Any work experience on high voltage products with output voltage greater than 1 kV is a plus.

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer, you play an essential role by providing support for existing programmable DC power supply and high voltage product lines at our Neptune, NJ factory and modify existing designs to meet custom requirements. Assist Sr. Engineers in new product development as needed.

Very High Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents,logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequencydistribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, andfactor analysis.

Highest Skills: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range ofintellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs,musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

SALARY RANGE

The starting annual base pay for the role is between USD $90,000 and $130,000. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
