Job summary

Exponent is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Phoenix, AZ, to develop solutions for a wide range of client challenges from startups to Fortune 100 companies. You will apply data-driven techniques, laboratory testing, and diverse engineering expertise to implement high-value, robust results for clients across industries.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or closely related field (e.g., Applied Physics).
• Technical background in electrical engineering, power electronics, controls, embedded systems or automation.
• Experience designing, constructing, and testing in a lab setting.
• Experience with data analysis and at least one programming language such as Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar.
• Excellent written and verbal communications and ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to convey technical conclusions to engineers, business, and related industry audiences.
• Self-starter with strong fundamentals and interest in learning new topics.
• Ability to support multiple group projects and market the Electrical Engineering Practice.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship required.

Responsibilities

• Performing electrical engineering analyses related to electrical/electronic systems for ongoing Exponent work.
• Performing failure analysis, risk assessment, electrical schematic and safety design review.
• Performing laboratory testing on PCBs and ICs using electrical bench test equipment.
• Presenting technical results and solutions to a diverse audience through verbal, written, and interactive communication.
• Preparing technical proposals, pursuing business developments, and expanding the range of related services Exponent provides to clients.
