Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, test, and sustain complex medical device products. You will navigate regulatory and quality requirements, resolve component-level sourcing challenges, and support development, optimization, and maintenance across cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes project planning, CAPA, and testing/validation of electrical subsystems, with collaboration across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to ensure robust product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering
• Minimum 3 years of electrical design for medical devices or other regulated industries
• Familiar with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001
• PCB design and layout tools experience (Altium/OrCAD/PADS)
• Analog and digital circuit design experience
• Electrical testing tools experience (oscilloscopes/logic analyzers)
• Strong understanding of regulated product development and design controls
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems
• Project management experience

Responsibilities

• Sustaining Engineering of existing products
• Lead root cause analysis and CAPA implementations
• Evaluate failure trends and mitigate risks
• Generate and maintain engineering documentation and verification reports
• Ensure designs comply with IEC 60601, ISO 13485, ISO 14971
• Develop project plans and risk mitigation strategies
• Conduct testing and validation for subsystems and full devices
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Supply Chain
