Job summary

Mainspring Energy seeks an autonomous Electrical Engineer, Electronics Design, to own end-to-end hardware for the Linear Generator. You will design and validate low-voltage (<60V) systems and PCBA hardware, leading cross-functional reviews and field diagnostics.

You will collaborate with a world-class team to push reliability, testability, and manufacturability, shaping the control hardware architecture and future power solutions. This hybrid role requires onsite presence at Menlo Park and remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 1+ years with a Master's in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven hands-on experience designing, troubleshooting, and realizing low-voltage electrical hardware (e.g., DC/DC converters, relays, e-fuses, and MOSFETs).
• Proficiency with PCBA schematic capture and PCB design tools (Altium strongly preferred).
• Strong fundamentals in analog/mixed-signal design, including op-amps, ADCs, and hardware filtering.
• Experience performing DFMEA and tolerance analysis; ability to drive projects forward.

Responsibilities

• Low-Voltage Hardware Design: Design low-voltage (< 60V) electrical systems and PCBs.
• Bring-Up & Validation: Own the full bring-up, validation, and qualification of your designs.
• Technical Reviews: Lead cross-functional design reviews to present concepts and secure approvals.
• Complex Diagnostics: Debug and troubleshoot hardware issues across field deployments and labs.
• Design for Reliability: Work with reliability engineers to improve system robustness.
• Manufacturing Collaboration: Work with NPI and suppliers to optimize DFM/DFT.
• Cross-Domain Integration: Interface with high-voltage teams for cabling and firmware.
• Team Growth: Mentor peers and collaborate with a world-class team.
