Job summary

Bell in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Senior Engineer, Instrumentation to test and validate aircraft systems and components, set up data acquisition, and partner with programs across life cycles to ensure safe, efficient operation.

You will configure sensors (thermocouples, strain gauges, accelerometers, LVDTs), use LabVIEW and CAD tools, collaborate with engineers and technicians, and contribute to data-driven improvements for current and future aircraft.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of professional engineering experience involving testing or data acquisition
  • Experience configuring sensors (thermocouples, strain gauges, accelerometers, LVDTs) and familiarity with LabVIEW or CAD applications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Test and validate systems and components for structural qualification.
  • Partner with programs to execute tests ensuring performance of current and future products.

This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX.

Instrumentation Labs

In the Instrumentation Labs we provide the various programs decision-quality measurements. In this group you will work with many programs across in a wide range of product life cycles to ensure our aircraft can operate safely and efficiently. You will work with established products like V-22, aircraft that are being tested for certifications like 525, new programs like MV-75, emerging products like SPRINT, and the development projects that will shape the future of flight. With a healthy mix of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, we figure out how to get the measurements these programs need and execute those plans to acquire data that will be used for analysis and product improvement.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Engineer, Instrumentation

Test and validate systems and individual aircraft components for structural qualification.

Partner with our various programs to execute tests that will ensure our current products and our future products perform their intended functions.

Set up the testing and capturing data from many different types of sensors, with various Data Acquisition systems we use to capture Test Data, including fatigue test, static test, wind tunnel, ballistic testing, and many others.

Partner with engineers from various groups and technicians to test the next generation of aircraft systems.

Skills You Bring To this Role

Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Electrical Engineering or a similar engineering degree with an emphasis on electrical engineering concepts.Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.

Minimum 2 years of professional engineering experience involving testing or data acquisition.

Familiarly with configuring sensors such as thermocouples, strain gages, accelerometers, and LVDT’s, preferred.

Background involving LabView or CAD applications such as AutoCAD would be preferred.

Communication skills to build effective relationships with engineers and technicians while keeping projects organized, on schedule and properly updated.
