Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and develop control systems for commercial and industrial products. You will create schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, and installation instructions while coordinating with sales, customers, and onsite manufacturing to ensure high-quality, reliable systems.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, proficiency with CAD tools, and knowledge of UL/NEC standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with electrical panel layout and schematic design.
• Ladder logic programming and system testing/troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD tools such as SolidWorks Electrical.
• Knowledge of electrical power distribution principles.
• Ability to learn VFDs for motor control.
• Familiarity with UL and NEC standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP software.
• Strong communication skills with internal teams and customers.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for commercial/industrial products and power distribution.
• Generate/modify electrical schematics and panel layouts to meet requirements.
• Assemble bills of material for control systems and components.
• Develop installation and operation instructions for electrical systems.
• Specify components for products and systems per specifications.
• Research data to assess design feasibility and applicability.
• Communicate with sales and customers about design and performance.
• Coordinate with onsite manufacturing to ensure conformance.
• Develop production drawings using SolidWorks Electrical and CAD tools.
• Ensure compliance with ETL, UL, NEC and related standards.
• Provide engineering support for field service and issue resolution.
• Collaborate to drive quality, innovation and responsiveness.
