Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a senior electrical engineer to lead bond-eligible projects in planning, design, construction, commissioning, and project management for facilities infrastructure.

The role emphasizes power systems, lighting, PV, BESS, EV charging, and microgrids, with strong knowledge of Title 24, NEC, Cal Green, CHPS/LEED experience and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience focusing on power systems for facilities infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of California Energy Codes, Title 24, NEC, and Cal Green Code.
• PE license and LEED/CHPS experience preferred.
• DSA experience or similar jurisdiction is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead bond-eligible planning, design, construction, commissioning and project management.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet requirements and timelines.
• Provide peer review on RFCs, change orders and technical issues.
• Travel to project sites as needed during all lifecycle phases.
• Perform electrical engineering analysis and reports for design integration.
• Ensure LED lighting, PV, BESS, EV charging, microgrids and smart systems are integrated.

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThis position is bond-eligible and is strictly limited to work associated with construction, modernization, and sustainability projects. Duties performed under this position shall not include routine maintenance, repair, or operational tasks that fall within the responsibilities of facilities Maintenance. The scope of this role is exclusively tied to bond-eligible activities such as planning, design, construction, commissioning, and related project management functions.Duties Include:Apply knowledge of Sustainable Building Principles and Standards to assist with complex systems level issuesSupport energy master planning, carbon reduction, grid resiliency, and electrification Apply knowledge of energy and environmental sustainability approaches, such as LEED credits, and its related impacts to operational efficiency.Understand Title 24 and ASHRAECoordinate with multi-disciplinary teams in conjunction with Project Managers, to meet project requirements and timelines.Assist Teams with technical issues that require second opinions e. peer review of Request For Clarifications (RFC's), Change Orders, etc.Traveling to and from project sites upon request of attending project and construction Involvement in all parts of the project life cycle, to include master planning, design, construction, and closeout.Perform electrical engineering analysis and technical reports supporting design Ensure integration of LED lighting systems, PV, BESS, EV charging, microgrids, and smart Minimum Required Bachelor's Degree in in Electrical Engineering10+ years of professional electrical engineering experience and consulting, with a focus on power systems design for facilities infrastructure.Strong knowledge of California Energy Codes, Title 24 Energy Code, Electrical Code (NEC), California Code of Regulations Part 11 (Cal Green Code) and applicable electrical engineering 2 years' experience in Educational Facility ConstructionPreferred Qualifications:Experience and/or certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools CHPS.Professional Engineering (PE) license in Electrical Engineering from a State Board in the U.S.Minimum 2 years of DSA experience and/or similar jurisdiction.
