Job summary

Acutronic Group in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an Electrical Engineer III with a strong background in power electronics and motion control. The ideal candidate has seven or more years of relevant experience and will contribute to designing, validating, and documenting complex motion systems.

You will work on 1–3 axis motion platforms, HWIL simulations, and hydraulic refurbishments, collaborating with engineering teams to meet contractual requirements and customer needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university.
• At least seven years of relevant experience.
• A combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Limited travel required.

Responsibilities

• Analyses customer requirements for 1 axis electric motions systems and refurbishments.
• Analyses 2 axis electric motions systems – standard and custom.
• Analyses 3 axis electric motions systems and refurbishments.
• Analyses complex, multi axis Hardware-In-the-Loop electric and hydraulic motion systems.
• Performs electrical systems design to assure conformance to contractual requirements for 1 axis electric motions systems and refurbishments, 2 axis, 3 axis, and HWIL systems.
• Creates wiring schematics, engineer bills of material, technical manuals, and acceptance test procedures for 1 axis, 2 axis, 3 axis, and HWIL systems.
• Assists fellow engineers, technicians, purchasing, and wire shop associates with questions and problems relating to products and/or systems within area of expertise.
• Performs drawing reviews to assist other engineers.
• Performs Acceptance Test Procedure reviews.
• Performs electrical system design for complex hydraulic system refurbishments.
• Performs duties with minimal supervision of the Electrical Engineering Team Lead or Head of Engineering.
