Job description

Our client is looking for someone -Leads the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks supporting critical infrastructure such as pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities

  • Champions the integration of advanced technologies including automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage to enhance system performance and reduce operational costs
  • Implements robust safety measures such as arc flash mitigation and fault detection systems to protect personnel and ensure infrastructure reliability
  • Provides technical expertise in power distribution, electrical schematics, and system layouts for both new construction and upgrades to existing facilities
  • Manages complex engineering projects from concept to completion ensuring alignment with business goals timelines and budget constraints
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant safety, environmental and regulatory standards across electrical systems and project execution
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet internal and external customer needs
  • Mentors and supports the development of junior engineers fostering technical growth knowledge sharing and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Understanding of power system design, analysis, and simulation (e.g., ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink or similar tools)
  • Knowledge of high-voltage equipment, transformers, generators, and switchgear
  • Understanding of grid integration and renewable energy systems
  • Experience in managing procurement processes for electrical equipment and materials, with established industry contacts for sourcing reliable vendors and suppliers
  • Preferred: Experience in overseeing the (FAT) commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with design specifications
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university, OR bachelor's degree in engineering technology from an ABET accredited college or university in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (Highly Preferred) and (4) years engineering experience in natural gas, data centers or related industry
  • Preferred: PE License
  • Preferred: Master's degree in electrical engineering
Job Requirements:
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills?
  • Proficiency in reviewing arc flash studies and implementing improvements
  • Working knowledge of electrical design codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, etc.)?
  • Preferred: Experience with PLCs?
  • ?Preferred: Experience working in Preliminary-Front End Engineering and Design (Pre-FEED), Front End Engineering Design (FEED), or Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) of small to medium facility projects
  • Preferred: Proficiency in designing, and implementing, Instrumentation systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems
