Position Overview

An established engineering consulting firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to join its Manufacturing Project Group. This onsite role is responsible for providing electrical engineering expertise on industrial and manufacturing facility projects from concept through completion.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical design skills, project leadership experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. This position also supports business development efforts through proposal development and client engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and support power distribution systems for manufacturing and industrial facilities.
  • Design motor feeders, starters, building power systems, and lighting systems.
  • Develop designs for specialty electrical systems, including:
    • Emergency power systems
    • Generator systems
    • UPS systems
    • Ground fault protection systems
    • Lightning protection systems
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
  • Perform voltage drop, short-circuit, and arc flash analyses.
  • Coordinate project activities with engineering disciplines, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout project execution.
  • Participate in proposal development and business development initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute to project planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and clients to successfully deliver projects.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to pursue licensure.
  • Experience designing electrical systems for industrial, manufacturing, or commercial facilities.
  • Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong electrical design expertise across a variety of industrial applications.
  • Experience with infrastructure design for manufacturing facilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural construction practices.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including:
    • NEC
    • NFPA
    • NESC
    • ANSI/IEEE
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Experience building client relationships and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Supervisory or people‑management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future sponsorship requirements.
Travel
  • Up to 25% domestic travel may be required.
Working Conditions
  • Some assignments may require visits to active construction sites.
  • Work environments may include uneven terrain typical of industrial and construction projects.
