We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II - IV to join our Richmond, VA office. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for representing the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. You will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and assigning various projects to be performed by the team.

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing trade specific system design: layout; calculations; and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other internal and external. Also, responsible for directing and leading the design team of a wide number of projects.

  • Assume responsible charge for the overall economic well‑being of the assigned projects.
  • Conduct business development activities.
  • Conduct due diligence reports that comply with group and company standards and procedures. Establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
  • Design large projects, prepare reports and specifications, and provide a very high level of technical leadership.
  • Establish project budgets and schedules.
  • Network within SHG and outside.
  • Participate in QA/QC process of completed work by staff.
  • Participate in various trade organizations and prepare presentations.
  • Perform calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation, and construction administration.
  • Perform staff resource management and review.
  • Produce drawings consistent with client requirements and standards.
  • Provide consulting engineering services including preparation of due diligence reports, gap analyses, and feasibility reports.
  • Pursue continuing education.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's in electrical Engineering from accredited schools.
  • 1.5 to 7+ years of relevant experience in MEP field.
  • Hands‑on design and CAD/REVIT experience, required, as you will have a very strong technical role.
  • Able to perform calculations for his/her trade to support design; possess basic knowledge of systems design for various projects.
  • Knowledge of design of various systems.
  • Willingness to pursue professional development opportunities.
  • FE/EIT required, PE preferred.
