Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer II–IV to join our Los Angeles or Irvine, CA offices. You will contribute to the design of major healthcare projects in inpatient and outpatient facilities, collaborating with a large national team of engineers.

Ideal candidates have an Electrical Engineer EIT credential, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and 1.5–3.5+ years in a consulting environment. Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT is expected, with LEED AP preferred.

Qualifications

  • EIT certification is required for Electrical Engineer role.
  • Ability to design electrical systems for diverse building types (commercial, healthcare, life science, R&D).
  • Strong coordination with architectural, structural, and telecom teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provides trade-specific system design: layout, calculations, and coordination with other trades.
  • Conducts field inspections to determine existing conditions and supports due diligence, feasibility, and reports.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines and design teams to integrate electrical designs.
  • Creates basic designs under senior supervision, including equipment selections and load/energy calculations.
  • Maintains master drawing organization per company standards.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II - IV to join our team in Los Angeles, or Irvine, CA. Working from either our Los Angeles or Irvine offices, you will contribute to the design of major projects from both inpatient and outpatient healthcare engineering design across all phases from around the world. Job Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer II - IV you will be responsible for providing trade-specific system design: layout, calculations (utilization appropriate software), and coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural, engineering / internal, and external).

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Conducts field inspections to determine existing conditions and to coordinate new work then assists Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis and other technical reports and drawings.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines and work in close contact with the entire design team
  • Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer perform equipment selections, load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes.
  • Master's drawing organization format and company standards.
Job Requirements

Successful candidates must have EIT certification as an Electrical Engineer with a solid, and stable work track record. The capability to fully design electrical systems for various building types not only commercial and mixed-use but also mission critical, life science and R+D facilities would be a major plus and good fit for this dynamic role.

Additional requirements of the Electrical Engineer include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 18 months to 3.5+ years’ experience working in a consulting firm
  • LEED AP accreditation, highly preferred
  • Candidate should possess a strong ability to coordinate electrical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and telecom, as well as its constructability and cost
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT experience
  • EIT required,
