Job summary

True Anomaly is seeking a talented engineer to join our team and help develop flight harness assemblies for spacecraft and defense applications.

You will support lead engineers with 3D harness routing, 2D detailed drawings, BOM generation, and electrical schematic capture. This role involves collaboration across engineering, production, supply chain, and integration teams, with opportunities for design ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or related engineering.
• 2-7 years of professional harness design/routing and/or schematic capture experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, NX or similar 3D CAD software; electrical schematic capture software acceptable.
• Experience with MBSE related to harness design (e.g., Cameo).
• Ability to work autonomously with some input on requirements or management oversight.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to travel 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Route 3D harness models for satellite spacecraft and defense applications using NX.
• Generate electrical interconnect diagrams and schematics; apply grounding and shielding concepts.
• Develop BOMs with Supply Chain to ensure timely parts/materials.
• Support Production during harness fabrication and issue-resolution activities.
• Assist Integration teams during vehicle integration and resolve issues.
• Coordinate across teams (engineering, program management, production, quality).
• Contribute to design best practices and data package standardization.
• DFx focus on Manufacturability, Integration, Reuse.

YOUR MISSION

True Anomaly is looking for you to join our team!

We are a team of engineers seeking a creative and experienced engineer, to help develop our flight harness assemblies. Tasks include supporting our lead engineers with 3D harness routing, 2D detailed drawing generation, piece part selection, bill of materials generation, and electrical schematic capture, among other things, in support of spacecraft and other defense applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Route 3D harness models into satellite spacecraft and other defense applications, considering bend radius, signal separation, and integration space constraints. We use NX for our MCAD, which software tool is your experience with?
• Generate electrical interconnect diagrams and schematics by defining point-to-point connections for power signals and data links, while implementing your basic understanding of grounding and shielding principles. We use Artifact for our ECAD; which software tool is your experience with?
• Develop Bill Of Material (BOMs) for our harnesses while working with our Supply Chain and Procurement teams to ensure parts and material arrive on time.
• Support Production facilities (internal and external) alongside our Lead Engineers, during Harness fabrication activities; assisting with any issue resolution support when needed.
• Support our Integration teams alongside our Lead Engineers, during vehicle integration activities; assisting with any issue resolution support when needed.
• Interface with and coordinate between various team members including engineering, program management, production, and quality. You will have support from senior engineers in developing your work but you will also have opportunities for design ownership and autonomy.
• Contribute to design best practices, engineering data package standardization, and overall team standardization efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or related engineering.
• 2-7 years of professional experience with harness design, harness routing, and/or harness electrical schematic capture experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, NX or similar 3D CAD software. Electrical schematic capture software tool experience also acceptable.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) as it relates to harness design (e.g., use of tools such as Cameo).
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with some input on requirements or management oversight.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to travel 20% of the time.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience with Harness Electrical schematic capture and 3D Harness Routing.
• Experience implementing designs compliant with IPC/WHMA-A-620A or NASA-STD-8739.4.

COMPENSATION

• Base Salary: $90,000- $165,000
• Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearance
• Work Location — this role will be onsite full-time at our Centennial, CO or our Long Beach, CA location. Occasional remote work possible.
• Work environment — the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.
• Physical demands — the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
