PRIMARY FUNCTION

Lead and coordinate the integration of electronics systems, electrical requirements and equipment in military aircraft such as; communications, navigation, satellite, GPS, RF, weapon systems and other mission systems and equipment. Lead the electrical systems design, Acceptance, EMI/EMC or other testing as required by the project. Research and comply with requirements such as customer Statement of Work (SOW), system specifications, manuals or other related documents to determine implementation/integration of the electrical system interface and design.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Interface and communicate through the Engineering Manager with other Electrical, Mechanical Engineers, Program Managers, Quality Assurance Manager, Configuration Manager, or other Engineer disciplines as required for the design and integration on all assigned projects.
  • Interface and communicate with the client in coordination with project leaders and Engineering Manager.
  • Develop electrical systems interface and integration in aircraft. Research and specify required electrical component selection, wire or coaxial cable, connectors, circuit breakers, relays, component specifications, and other related parts or assemblies required.
  • Oversee EMI/EMC/EMV compliant design as it relates to bonding, shielding, grounding, lightning strike, conducted and radiated interaction/interference with aircraft systems.
  • Provide and lead electrical analysis, test plans and reports to include but may not be limited to: EMI/EMC/RFI, ground floor, source-victim, antenna evaluation-performance and interaction with the aircraft and systems as required.
  • Briefing preparation and presentation to the client to include Kickoff Meeting, PDR, CDR, IPT's or other briefings as required.
  • Report writing and test plans including air worthiness documentation reports that includes but not limited to: Electrical Load and Power Source Capacity and Analysis, System Safety Assessment, and/or others as required.
  • Provide technical support for preparation of electrical related drawing and specifications in an engineering data CAD package that includes wiring diagrams, cable harnesses, cable routing and electrical assemblies.
  • Provide guidance to avionic technicians, Draftsman, Technical Writers, Production personnel, or other support personnel as/if required on assigned projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Writing technical documents as required by the project.
  • Systems integration, calculation requirements for electrical system, power distribution, electrical interface requirements and integrated in aircraft.
  • Design systems integration and aircraft testing in compliance with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Vulnerability (EMV) interaction and effects in the aircraft system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering and 4 years minimum of job-related experience on military aircraft.
  • Must have good communication and analytical skills, working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs such as Power Point, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance.
