Job summary

Jabil seeks an Electrical Engineer II in Grantsville, Utah to transform complex electrical designs into reliable, scalable manufacturing solutions for hyperscale data-center and energy customers.

You will support NPI, qualification, production ramp, and sustaining operations, while improving test performance, solving production issues, and meeting quality, cost, delivery, and reliability targets. This role requires clear communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical, manufacturing, or hardware engineering.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits and systems.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings and technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical hardware with lab equipment.
• Experience collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Support prototype, pilot, qualification, ramp, and sustaining production activities.
• Review schematics, PCBAs, wiring, cables, specifications, and drawings for manufacturability and testability.
• Partner with Test Engineering to define, validate, and troubleshoot manufacturing test solutions.
• Diagnose electrical failures at component, PCB, subassembly, system, and rack levels.
• Lead investigations of defects, test failures, and intermittent issues with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze production and test data to improve quality, yield, throughput, and cost.
• Coordinate ECOs, deviations, component qualifications, configuration changes, and product revisions.

How will you make an impact?

The Electrical Engineer II turns complex electrical designs into reliable, scalable manufacturing solutions for hyperscale data-center and energy customers.

This hands-on role supports NPI, qualification, production ramp, and sustaining operations while improving test performance, resolving production issues, and meeting quality, cost, delivery, reliability, and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate combines strong electrical-engineering fundamentals, disciplined problem solving, sound judgment, and clear communication in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What will you do?

• Support prototype, pilot, qualification, ramp, and sustaining production activities.
• Review schematics, PCBAs, wiring, cables, specifications, and drawings for manufacturability, testability, reliability, and scale.
• Partner with Test Engineering to define, validate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing test solutions.
• Diagnose electrical failures at component, PCB, subassembly, system, and rack levels.
• Lead investigations of defects, test failures, and intermittent issues; verify corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze production and test data to improve quality, yield, throughput, coverage, cost, and cycle time.
• Support DFM/DFA/DFT reviews, PFMEA, control plans, capability studies, risk assessments, and readiness reviews.
• Coordinate ECOs, deviations, component qualifications, configuration changes, and product revisions.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, a related technical field; or a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Experience:

• Two to five years of relevant experience in electrical, manufacturing, or hardware engineering.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits and systems.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings and technical specifications.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting electrical hardware with laboratory and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting NPI, high-volume electronics, or electromechanical contract manufacturing.
• Knowledge of server or rack-level power distribution, AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion, grounding, and protection.
• Experience with PCB assemblies, cable assemblies, backplanes, power-distribution boards, or system-level integration.
• Familiarity with high-speed digital systems, signal integrity, or communication interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I²C, SPI, UART, or USB.
• Experience developing or troubleshooting manufacturing test equipment and automated test systems.
• Familiarity with engineering or test-automation tools such as LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, C/C++, Altium, Cadence, or OrCAD.
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, DFT, and applicable IPC, UL, IEC, or IEEE standards.
