Job summary

MEA Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer I in Largo, FL (Hybrid) to design electrical systems for commercial products, develop schematics, and support PCBs from prototype to production. You will work with motor controls, power electronics, and VFDs while ensuring compliance with UL/IEC/FCC requirements.

The role involves hands-on testing, DFMEA support, and cross-functional teamwork with software/firmware groups to deliver reliable, certifiable products.

Qualifications

• Must hold a BS in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of electrical hardware experience.
• Ability to independently create electrical schematics.
• Experience with motor controls and power electronics.
• Hands-on prototype, test, and debugging experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs, schematics, and system architectures for commercial products.
• Design and troubleshoot power circuits and motor control systems.
• Develop schematics and support PCB development, including debugging/testing.
• Build prototypes and test boards to evaluate designs and performance.
• Translate customer and product requirements into technical specs.
• Develop and execute verification and validation testing.
• Support products through certification requirements (UL, IEC, FCC).
• Coordinate certification testing with internal and third-party teams.
• Work with VFDs and motor-control technologies.
• Support embedded communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN).
• Collaborate with firmware teams on wireless products.
