Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 0–7 years of relevant engineering experience in aerospace/defense or high-reliability industries.
  • Working knowledge of spacecraft electrical systems and subsystems.
  • Experience with electrical design principles and circuit analysis.
  • Familiarity with requirements management and engineering documentation practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support spacecraft electrical systems engineering activities across concept to test.
  • Contribute to design, development, and verification of electrical systems (power distribution, signal integrity).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional spacecraft engineers for system-level objectives.
  • Assist in requirements management processes and documentation.
  • Participate in integration and test activities including testing, verification, and root-cause analysis.
  • Perform power budgets, thermal analysis, and basic radiation effects assessment.
  • Develop test procedures and contribute to verification activities.
  • Document design decisions and test findings.

YOUR MISSION

The Electrical Engineer I-III, Systems will support the design, analysis, testing, and integration electrical systems for complex space missions. Y ou'll contribute to all phases of the spacecraft development lifecycle , from initial concept and requirements definition through integration, test, and on-orbit operations. This role offers the opportunity to tackle challenging technical problems, develop innovative engineering solutions, and grow your expertise in spacecraft electrical systems while making a direct impact on missions critical to space security and sustainability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supportspacecraftelectrical systems engineering activities, including concept development, requirements analysis, trade studies, interface definition, and verification planning
  • Contribute to the design, development, and verification of electrical systems with a focus on power distribution, signal integrity, andcomponentselection
  • Collaborate with cross-functional spacecraft engineering teams to support system-level integration and mission objectives
  • Assistin the development and maintenance of requirements management processes and documentation
  • Participate in integration and test activities including subsystem and system-level testing,developingand executingtest procedures,performingfunctional verification,troubleshootinghardware anomalies,and supportingroot cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Conduct analysis tasks such as power budgets, thermal analysis, and basic radiation effects assessment
  • Support the development of test procedures and contribute to design verification activities
  • Document design decisions, analysis results, and test findings

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering,physical sciences, or related technical field
  • 0-7 years of relevant engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or related high-reliability industries
  • Working knowledge of spacecraft electrical systems and subsystems
  • Experience with electrical design principles, circuit analysis, and system-level thinking
  • Familiarity with requirements management and engineering documentation practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiencywith standard electrical engineering tools (e.g., SPICE simulation, CAD tools, analysis software)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with spacecraft power systems, avionics, or related electrical subsystems
  • Familiarity with space environment effects on electronics (radiation, thermal, vacuum)
  • Experience with integration and test processes for complex electrical systems
  • Knowledge of reliability analysis techniques and FMEA methodologies
  • Programming or scripting skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar)
  • Understanding of signal integrity and EMI/EMC considerations
  • Ability tomaintainor obtain TS//SCI clearance

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work Location: this role will be fully onsite at ourGravityWorksfactory in Centennial, CO or Long Beach, CA.
  • Work environment is in a standard office, working at a desk or in a production factory.
  • Physical demands may include frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying items up to 20lbs.
