Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring for early career engineers in multiple locations, including Kent, WA; Los Angeles, CA; and Denver, CO. The two pathways—Direct Hire and New Graduate Rotation—offer hands-on rotations across diverse engineering domains with mentorship and team collaboration.

Applicants enter a one-year development track that combines four-month rotations, exposure to avionics and propulsion context, and a program-managed pairing for ongoing placement. Rolling reviews apply as we grow teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2027.
  • Experience with applied electronics and electrical engineering including avionics hardware, software, hardware-in-the-loop, etc.
  • CAD software (AutoCAD or other drafting programs).
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience demonstrating technical skills and leadership.
  • Ability to earn trust and work well in a collaborative culture.

  • Involves multiple aspects of applied electronics and electrical engineering including avionics hardware, software, hardware-in-the-loop, instrumentation and controls, system test, power, and communications.

Early Career Pathways:

We offer two pathways for full-time employment (please indicate your preference in your application):

  • Direct Hire: Multiple positions available across our Business Units. You will be matched with an appropriate engineering team based on your skillset and experience and our current business needs.
  • New Graduate Rotation Program: This one-year development program enables you to expand your engineering skillset through a variety of hands-on experience and mentorship. Throughout your three four-month rotations, you’ll explore a variety of fields supporting our business units: New Glenn, Blue Engines, Lunar Permanence, Blue National Security, Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering, and Operations. Upon completing this uniquely personalized program, you’ll collaborate with the Program Manager to determine the best team fit for your ongoing career.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Your work may involve many aspects of applied electronics and electrical engineering including avionics hardware (from PCBs to electrical systems), software, hardware in the loop, instrumentation & controls, system test, power systems, communication systems, mechanical systems, propulsion systems, manufacturing, and systems engineering.
  • Specific duties are subject to our business unit objectives.
  • Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2027.
  • Experience with:
  • Applied electronics and electrical engineering including avionics hardware (from PCBs to electrical systems), software, hardware in the loop, etc.

Base Pay Range For

CA applicants is $87,816.00 - $122,942.40 CO applicants is $80,499.00 - $112,697.55 WA applicants is $87,816.00 - $122,942.40
