Job summary

PCI Aviation is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to research, develop, test, and evaluate electrical components, equipment, and systems for aerospace applications. You will work on a team to design parts and assemblies per military standards using CAD software and ensure seamless integration with aircraft systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, plus at least five years with CAD and electrical modeling tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of engineering experience with CAD and electrical modeling software.
• Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA and LabVIEW/PSPICE/ORCAD.
• Aircraft modification background is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office and strong written/oral communication skills.

Electrical Engineer I

Exempt Level Position

Job Summary

Research, develops, tests, and evaluates electrical components, equipment, and systems, applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering. Perform intensive technological research and evaluation of a broad array of alternative solutions to improve existing implementations. Perform analysis of existing technology applications, processes, and products, taking into consideration costs, life cycle considerations, availability, reliability, maintainability, producibility, and long-term support.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with a team to help resolve challenging discrepancies and issues related to rotary and fixed wing aircraft.
• Develop design for component parts and assemblies for application on aerospace products in accordance with Military Standards using CAD programs.
• Verify modifications or repairs safely integrate with military aircraft systems.
• Assure conformance to pre-established design parameters.
• Participate in detailed cross functional engineering communication, design, evaluation, and implementations.
• Perform routine analyses to develop options or recommendations for customer products and components.
• Participate in the development of product drawings, schematics, bills of materials, technical data packages (TDP), test procedures, technical instructions, and design documentation.
• Review and evaluation of regulatory compliance of aircraft certification projects and initiation of safety determinations for continuing airworthiness.
• Evaluate existing drawings for manufacturability and supportability.
• Prepares, edits, and/or submits research, travel, technical, and other reports.
• Conduct research on aircraft components and systems using a variety of resources (FEDLog, A-Team, REMIS, EDIS, technical manuals, etc.).
• Identify barriers and design issues, brief leadership on deviations / options / workarounds / solutions.
• Perform all duties on time, on budget and in a safe manner while adhering to safety standards.
• Perform various supporting tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or applicable experience plus a scientific degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Five years’ experience with greater than one year of experience with specialized software training in:
  • SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA Design software
  • Electrical system modeling software (LabView, PSPICE, ORCAD)
• Aircraft modification background is a plus
• Familiar with MS Office Suite
• Effective written and oral communication skills

Security Requirements

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the contract required level. US Citizenship is required for clearance.

Travel

Travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in a standard office or conference room setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer.

To visit other company sites, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fly in an aircraft, both of which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time. Employees must possess vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas will be required. This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

Pay Range:$80,000 - $125,000 per year

This position’s salary range above is a general guideline. The actual salary offered will be based on the candidate’s pertinent experience, currency of that experience, skills, and education.
