Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Nashville, TN to lead electrical design for healthcare projects and provide technical guidance to the design team.

You will coordinate with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines, act as Engineer of Record, oversee code reviews, and mentor staff while delivering projects on time and within budget. This role reports to the Electrical Discipline Manager and requires PE licensure or eligibility within six months.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or licensure via reciprocity within six months of hire.
• 8+ years of progressive electrical design experience for healthcare and commercial projects.
• Experience in power distribution, MV campus distribution, arc flash, lighting and life safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and quality oversight, including code reviews for electrical engineering work.
• Mentor and train design staff.
• Establish and improve standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for the electrical discipline.
• Serve as Engineer of Record on projects.
• Provide on-the-spot technical and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and outside consultants.
• Interface with code officials and contractors.

Dewberry is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Nashville, TN. Responsible for providing technical guidance and training/mentoring of our design resources in all areas of work we do including all types of healthcare projects associated with electrical engineering. Assist the Project/Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client's desires and budget. Work with a team of engineers on a variety of private, public, and federal projects. In addition to working with electrical engineers, this individual will team with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines to provide full-range services to our local and regional clients. In short, provide technical guidance associated with electrical requirements to accomplish our commitments. Will report to the Electrical Discipline Manager.

Would be expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete projects:

• Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving electrical engineering.
• Technical training and development of staff.
• Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for electrical discipline area.
• Engineer of Record.
• Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
• Coordination with all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
• Technical interface with code officials and contractors.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity (example through Comity) within the State in which the position is posted within six (6) months.
• Accomplished electrical engineer.
• 8+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of power distribution, multiple generator powerhouses, multi-building medium voltage campus distribution, fault studies, selective overcurrent coordination studies, load flow studies, arc flash studies, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems on healthcare and commercial projects.
• Experience should include management of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
• Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Well organized, takes good notes.
