Job summary

Cherryland Electric Cooperative, based in Northern Michigan, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, operate, and improve our electric distribution system. The role spans multiple disciplines from planning to grid modernization, with opportunities to work across SCADA, distributed energy resources, and automation projects.

You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, IT, and Member Services, lead or participate in engineering studies, and help implement new technologies to enhance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• EIT certification preferred or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• PE licensure encouraged.
• Experience in electric utility engineering, power systems, distribution engineering, SCADA, protection and control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, operate, and improve the electric distribution system.
• Lead or participate in SCADA, distribution automation, and grid modernization projects.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, IT, and Member Services on engineering initiatives.
• Provide engineering support for system operations and restoration efforts.
• Research and evaluate new technologies to improve operations and member service.
