Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Proficiency interpreting schematics, PCB layouts, FPGA block diagrams, and firmware architectures.
• Experience with laboratory benchtop equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators).
• Experience with VHDL or Verilog programming for FPGA development.
• Experience with embedded programming in C/C++ for microcontrollers or processors.
• Experience with communication bus protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, and Ethernet, including implementation in HDL or firmware.

Responsibilities

• Characterize and document electronic systems: research components, PCB layouts, FPGA architectures; create schematics and firmware docs; perform time-domain tests.
• Analyze analog and mixed-signal circuits: evaluate power supplies, amplifiers, filters, ADC/DAC interfaces; measure key parameters.
• Analyze communication bus protocols: work with SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, Ethernet; implement interfaces in FPGA/firmware.
• Design and implement FPGA solutions: develop VHDL/Verilog designs; perform synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure; verify FPGA designs for PCB integration.
• Develop embedded firmware: write bare-metal code, device drivers, HALs for sensors; debug with JTAG.
• Characterize RF and analog signals: measure RF/analog parameters; support RF processing in FPGA when applicable.
• Encode and decode modulation: analyze and implement modulation schemes; contribute to DSP for modulation/demodulation.
• Contribute to technical reports: integrate data into reports and briefings; summarize analyses.
• Research emerging technologies: stay current with FPGA, embedded processors, tools, and techniques.
• Collaborate with experts: work with engineers to solve hardware design challenges.
