Sutphen Corporation in Dublin, Ohio is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, test, and support electrical systems for our custom fire apparatus.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of hands-on experience with schematics, BOMs, and J1939 CAN bus, along with NFPA 70/79 compliance. You will collaborate with mechanical engineers and production staff to ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum five years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with schematic design and BOM development.
• Knowledge of J1939 CAN bus.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and NEC.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Collaborative approach to deadlines, safety, and quality.

Responsabilités

• Design, test, and support installation of electrical systems for custom fire apparatus.
• Develop and maintain hardware selections, schematics, and wire-harness diagrams for system integration.
• Develop and validate software components using C or C++ and proprietary vehicle systems.
• Provide hands-on production support for electrical assembly.
• Apply engineering principles to root-cause investigations and documentation.
• Participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, and related engineering artifacts.
• Help establish and enforce standards and procedures in a multidisciplinary design environment.
• Address component obsolescence and initiate continuous-improvement projects.
