Job summary

Ultrasonium, a Massachusetts-based hardware startup, seeks a full-time electrical engineer to lead end-to-end electrical system development for a novel metal additive manufacturing platform. You will own architecture, prototyping, verification, and production readiness, while collaborating with mechanical and software teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field; Master's or PhD a plus.
• 2+ years hands-on hardware design experience in industrial/manufacturing or hardware startup context.
• Proficiency with circuit simulation and analog/power electronics design.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end electrical system development for a novel metal additive manufacturing platform from architecture through prototyping, validation, and production readiness.
• Design and simulate analog and power electronics circuits across operating conditions.
• Own PCB design and layout from schematic to fabrication, ensuring signal integrity, EMC, and manufacturability.
• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for real-time control and monitoring of electrical subsystems.
• Define and execute electrical verification, validation procedures and design reviews.
• Specify and qualify electronic components for reliable operation in demanding environments.
• Collaborate across mechanical, software, and process engineering to ensure clean system integration.
• Establish and maintain electrical documentation standards and test reports.
