Job summary

Moore's Electrical & Mechanical is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Designer to design and coordinate electrical systems for commercial and industrial construction. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with owners, contractors, and design professionals to deliver code‑compliant, cost‑effective solutions.

The role emphasizes leadership through all project phases, from concept through construction, with a focus on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Virginia PE license or ability to obtain by comity within six months.
• Minimum five years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical design.
• Experience as Engineer of Record and signing/sealing documents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete electrical designs for commercial and industrial projects.
• Plan, engineer, and design systems meeting objectives, codes, schedules, and budgets.
• Prepare engineering calculations, layouts, specifications, and construction documents.
• Coordinate design activities with project teams, architects, engineers, vendors and other designers.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior designers and engineers.
• Review designs for accuracy, constructability, and codes compliance.
• Support preconstruction and estimating with scopes and equipment selections.
• Present concepts and value engineering opportunities to stakeholders.
