Schlumberger Limited is seeking an engineer to maintain and improve electronic/mechanical hardware used across Measurement products at the Coraopolis facility. You will revise drawings, validate components for RoHS, and manage PCB projects in Altium while interfacing with suppliers and engineering teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of related experience, with strong troubleshooting and proficiency in test equipment.

  • Fundamental knowledge of electronic and mechanical hardware including analog and digital circuits.
  • Experience with PCB design/layout tools like Altium.
  • ERP experience, preferably SAP.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.

Job description

Operations (Engineers, Geoscience, Specialists, Operators)

Located in the SLB Coraopolis facility supporting all Measurement products across all Measurement facilities. Under general direction, provide engineering skills to maintain existing products and provide cost-effective solutions requiring the development or sustaining of new or improved techniques, procedures or products. Assist in planning, conducting and evaluating approaches to meeting the project objectives in a timely fashion.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain electronic products by revising drawings and part lists.
  • Evaluate components and products for RoHS compatibility.
  • Maintain PCB projects (schematic and layout) within Altium Designer.
  • Electrical circuit board troubleshooting, reviewing schematics and creating test boards to interface with custom products.
  • Leads as a critical interface for technical queries and issue resolution between Supplier/manufacturing and Engineering.
  • Develop and conduct testing to ensure new parts are adequate replacements that meet the required standards
  • Develop and maintain testing procedures and coordinate with others to perform tests.
  • Provide disposition on nonconformances and timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues.
  • Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other artifacts. Ensure commitments are met.
  • May assign, direct and review work of technicians and provide guidance to engineers.
  • Create and maintain product documentation (design, development, integration, test procedures,test reports, and ERP/production data) following the Project Life Management of the project.
  • Maintain familiarity with Company technology, organization and business.
  • Complies with applicable company policies', including Personnel, Quality System and Health, Safety and Environment standards and procedures.
  • Successfully complete required safety training (including but not limited to drugs and alcohol, electrical, emergency response, fire, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, SIPP, risk reporting, IT security, hazardous materials, driving).

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 2+ years related experience
  • The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of fundamental knowledge of electronic and mechanical hardware including analog and digital circuits including op amps, analog filters, microprocessors, memory, etc.
  • Experience with PCB design/layout tools, preferably Altium
  • Experience with ERP, preferably SAP
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing methods of printed circuit boards
  • Strong troubleshooting skillset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators
  • Ability to work independently or as a team
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Project, Word and Excel
