Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Data Center) in Canonsburg, PA for a 6-month onsite contract. Lead detailed design of large-scale data center environments and ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.

The role requires 11+ years of experience, a Bachelor's in engineering, and professional licensure or active pursuit. Candidates must excel in communication, leadership, and coordinating with project teams, clients, and field personnel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to drive results, set priorities, and plan effectively.
• Skilled in delegating, leading teams, and managing project schedules, budgets, and staffing.
• Understanding and application of engineering design principles and standards.
• Professional registration or licensure in engineering or actively pursuing it.

• Demonstrate strong leadership skills, with a desire to train and develop early career and/or inexperienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to deliver detailed design of large-scale data center environments while following all company, client and project design standards.
• Work closely with engineering project teams and field personnel to complete and review projects on scope, budget, and schedule.
• Incorporate schedules, budgets, and project criteria into physical design and layouts.
• Possess a willingness to function in multiple job roles simultaneously.
• Provide guidance and insight into design risk factors for redundancy and resiliency.
• Conduct field surveys, drawings, and other data to assess conditions of existing facilities and develop summary reports.
• Prepare and/or review technical drawings to ensure that installations and designs conform to standards and customer requirements.
• Review drawing and modeling production work, including problem analysis.
• Provide guidance to ensure that designs comply with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
• Compile data and create engineering studies and reports.
• Perform detailed calculations as needed by the project.
• Mentor, provide guidance, and supervise junior-level engineers and designers.
• Provide training for other technical personnel.
• Coordinate with internal and external clients to determine proper requirements for projects.
