Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon LEO will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

As a Hardware Engineer, you will be part of the team developing cost-optimized Customer Terminal products designed for high-volume production. You will own key hardware designs and work across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to deliver simple, robust, and scalable solutions. You will own or contribute to the following:

  • Design high-speed digital, RF, power, and mixed-signal circuitry in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Develop and optimize electronic subsystems with a strong focus on cost, simplicity, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Evaluate design architectures and component selections to identify opportunities for BOM cost reduction and design simplification
  • Perform engineering trade studies to balance product performance, requirements, cost, schedule, and customer experience
  • Own schematic capture and work closely with PCB layout engineers to deliver production-ready designs
  • Design and optimize DC/DC power supplies and point-of-load power architectures
  • Identify opportunities to reduce component count, PCB complexity, layer count, assembly cost, and manufacturing complexity
  • Support requirement definition and develop hardware validation and test plans
  • Lead board bring-up, debug, characterization, and validation of modules and subsystems
  • Support the development of automated test systems, fixtures, and factory test solutions with an emphasis on minimizing test time and cost
  • Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to support component sourcing, alternate qualification, and cost reduction initiatives
  • Support designs through qualification, production ramp, and high-volume manufacturing
