Job summary

Paycom is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Controls Engineer in Wood Dale, IL to design, program, and troubleshoot complex packaging machinery from concept to installation. Minimum 5 years in automated controls with PLCs and HMIs, plus experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens Motion Control, is required.

Travel up to 25% is expected. The role includes creating electrical schematics, BOMs, and documentation, and leading controls projects to on-site customer acceptance while ensuring UL/CE/CSA

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5+ years of automated controls design experience with PLCs and HMIs.

• Knowledge of risk assessments, UL, CE and CSA standards desired.
• Ability to manage projects and lead controls engineers on projects.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Assignments are on complex standard or specialty machines. Works under limited supervision and exercises independent judgment. 5 years minimum automated controls design experience in programing PLC’s and HMI’s. Experience with AB and Siemens Motion Control software platforms a must. Knowledge of risk assessments, UL, CE and CSA are desired.
